SPECIAL ED OPERATOR ROAST is a washed coffee from Totutla, Puebla in Mexico, produced by six smallholder farmers working with the Puhuac de Méndez group. Farms sit between 980 and 1500 meters above sea level and grow a mix of Marsellesa, Mundo Novo, Yellow Bourbon, Garnica, and Oro Azteca varieties. The coffee is processed at each farmer’s home using traditional washed methods. 

The lot was sourced through Crop to Cup’s Good Coffee Program, which works directly with small producers in northern Puebla to improve market access and pricing transparency. Most farms in this group are under one hectare and produce only a few bags each year, making lots like this a blend of several small parcels.
